A dark, rainy night just outside of wilmington, north carolina. In the little town of leland, the banks of the cape fear river overflowed into the marshlands and a chorus of frogs burst forth with beautiful song. Enjoy. - christopher c. Courter.

An long escalator i recorded in atlanta. The escalator was very noisy, and produced a kind of whining electrical sound that sounded almost spiritual. I do not know if the transcendent beauty of the escalator is captured sufficiently here, but i figured someone might be able to use it! there are a few faint voices in the background.

Another very old production, i think this one's from around 2009 even!. Using the reverb of a chord i made on my guitar i created a drone-y, washed out sound. Added some subtle bitcrushed drums, cymbals and a vst synthesizer plays some notes to fill it out a bit, and a dark brooding bass-like instrument pulls up near the end of the track.

At 03:27 (-02:13) guys start the car and it makes noices to the end. Ambience in small town with background noices:people talking in polish language, cars, birds, dogs. In some moments could be heard music from nearby event. Recorded by zoom h5 stereo mic 48khz 24 bit.

This is a recording made from the balcony of my apartment in the province of rieti in italy where you can hear various noises such as the singing of my cocoriti parrots, my dog that occasionally barks, some people and some passing cars. This recording was done with my iphone connected to the shure mv88 plus microphone.

Two sustained voice samples i subsequently pitch shifted and layered for an ambient work (to achieve an 80's choir pad effect). The key is almost in middle c, but slightly off. . . Because i can't sing. The second, lower voice sample was recorded extremely close to the mic to achieve clipping; i wanted to get a buzzy, boomy sound out of it.

I was trying to record the sound of six loons calling to each other, but was interrupted by an aggressive chipmunk who had decided that the lakeside was his and his alone. I recorded anyway. Digital noise made from raw binary files extracted from hdd with hexplorer using raw import function in audacity. Files were 4, each made from 200 sectors. I modified each sound using filters and joined them together to make longer looping example. Good to use in a game or 3d video animation as background ambient noise. Audacity and hexplorer are freeware and you can make similar job with them. . .

Over 6 hours of night ambient shot in the countryside near a house close to the main road. Rain hitting the vines, thunders, village sounds, crickets, occasional cars passing on the road, far thunders with no rain, dogs barking, roosters, all in one unedited take. This was recorded with the mobile phone (allview e2 living) with the "voice recorder" app at maximum quality settings so do expect a lower quality. You are free to use this sound as you wish.
